Águas Livres Aqueduct
This is the most incredible hydraulic building of the 18th and 19th century raised in Portugal, with a total extension of 58 km. The Lisbon Aqueduct, on its way through the city, splits into 3 main parts: the Galeria das Necessidades, the Galeria do Loreto and the Galeria de Santana.
Necessidades Pathway
The project of a route trough the area of Necessidades brought back the memory of the Aqueduct in that place. 3 interventions were thought: a new entrance to Tapada das Necessidades (5), a conservation project of an early 20th century building close to the Palace (8), and the transformation of unoccupied structures inside the garden into workshop cabinets
